We all like to remember good things, right? We all keep happy memories inside for a long, long time and this is the exact reason Dallas is playing host to this lady's birthday this year!

In April, we brought Dani Deahl out on a Tuesday and she PACKED the place out. There was a sense of enjoyment a lot of us hadn't had (or even expected) in a long time, including Dani. A few weeks later, she ended up asking me to have her birthday right here in Dallas.

Of course, I said yes!

Well, the day is finally upon us... it's TOMORROW, August 15th! The whole Disqo Disco crew will be in attendance, warming your ears up for what will undoubtedly be a sexy, sexy assault on all of your senses.

I have immense happiness in announcing Dani Deahl's set tomorrow night. She's a killer DJ from Chicago, and is also a journalist for some of the industry's top publications including URB and BPM. She's launched an electro label with the famed house label Strictly Rhythm, and has released sweet party jams of her own on said Calamity Jane label.

She also runs the blog D SQUARED, which garners a lot of attention and love from people all over the world. Her latest track "Poppin' Bottles" made the Billboard charts the week of 3/7, hitting #5 for "Breakouts For Hot Dance Club Play". I could go on and on, but I'll just say that you NEED to be there tomorrow night.

I'm so pumped about the new Juan MacLean album coming out soon. I've been listening to The Simple Life a lot lately and I can't wait to be a consumer with this. Here's a little gem for those of you who like The Twelves. I do, but John would totally kick their asses in a deathmatch.

I've been casually listening to Telepathe's myspace since sometime around summer of last year, and they're one of those bands you start hearing in your head at random parts throughout the day, but since you've only heard it once or twice, you can't figure out what it is until you venture back to the source.

Well, by then I was hooked, and their debut album Mother Dance is definitely delivering to the addiction. Soon I'll be naked in a street with headphones and a bottle of cheap tequila asking people for a ride to their show (which I missed a few months back due to being poor already. sad face...). This particular track sort of makes me wish that was the case anyway, but in a totally feel-good way. Does that make sense?

Ok, I knew I couldn't be the only one that likes Led Zeppelin. I mean, how crazy would that be to think? So that inadvertently brings me to my next thought...

I love the internet, and I hate the internet. It's such a great place because it brings so much media and stimulation straight to its users' faces, almost effortlessly these days mind you. But where there's a good thing, there are bad things waiting just around the corner. It's just really too bad when you find snippets of things you really like and can't find anything else about them. Information once on print, not fully transcribed onto digital format, and possibly lost to the new generations forever.

I have no idea who does this ultra slow and funky version of Whole Lotta Love, but I still want to post this song anyway.

OK guys, I have a confession to make. I really, really like Led Zeppelin. I think. No, I do. It's confirmed. While this song probably won't ever make you sweaty on the dance floor as you're swingin and swaying to find that hot little piece of hipster meat for the night, it might just be the perfect mix of slow and sexy, bluesy and melancholy, and still have enough balls to kick your ass into next week. Amazing Baby -

These guys, like a lot of bands from Brooklyn that I've been digging for the last few months, are friends with MGMT, and I got into them for being such. Browsing their myspace the first few times, I could tell there was something there in the music I liked, but it really took me downloading their free EP to appreciate it fully. Since then, I've had many days where this is the only thing I will listen to. Think prog influenced poppy psych rock, with a bite of mid 90s alt pop thrown in for good measure. Shit, I suck at describing music, so just download it:

The first is strangely enough a song from 1982 that strikes very close to home with the country's current economic status. It's the original recording of "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)", which was later covered by the group Simply Red in 1985 (see video below). So it's been a million years since our last post, and I kinda feel bad about it, and I kinda don't. We've all been busy of course, but I also just got a new job and I've been looking into moving to Dallas! That's exciting to me.

Yes, it's that time now kids. I thought it would be tomorrow, but I changed my mind. It's that time when I express my personal opinions and hope I don't get chastised for them. Check it:

I love choral arrangements. Even more than that, I love drunken-friend sounding choral arrangements. Even MORE, I like drunken-kid-friend sounding choral arrangements. D.A.N.C.E. can blow me, it was fun while it lasted. No, I'm talkin' Elephant Six type shit. Everybody sitting by a campfire with an acoustic guitar drinking whiskey and butchering their favorite songs. Just having fun... something some of us may have forgotten how to do.

Enter PNAU, the Australian dance duo of Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes. They've been around for years cranking out viral feet movers. They released a self-titled album late last year, and it has lodged itself into my brain... right in between Tom Tom Club and The Fixx. They have a fluid and subdued style of disco-y dance, something 2007 saw very little of. That same feeling of lounging around a fire with your friends on a Saturday night can be taken to the dance floor, and will stay in your head by the end of the night.

Ok everybody, we have some tidbits of awesomeness to share with you today. We had Sherlock Holmes, Killtronix, and Kato help us out on the decks last night, and it was intensely fun. A lot of diversity in the room, in the speakers, and in our hearts. It's where it belongs!

First off, we (Sydney Confirm) have a new remix for you. Yes, it was for another remix contest, and no, I'm not worried about winning. I just like getting vocal tracks and twisting the song around into something entirely different. I want you to think "smooth wine buzz on a yacht" for this one. Next up, I'll be working on uploading pictures from this past week onto a new DISQO DISCO Flickr account sometime this weekend. If any of you have pictures, feel free to post them in comments on our myspace page, or anywhere you want to really. There are a few from Tuesday in our "3/25/08" photo album already on myspace, but those barely crack the ice.

Lastly, but the most important... NEXT TUESDAY IS APRIL FOOL'S DAY, and we're THROWING A PARTY!!! Sorry for the caps, a little unnecessary, but you can get over it. We have Keith P and Schwa coming in, and it's going to blow your mind. Let the flyer speak for itself...

Hello blogosphere, welcome to our little interweb niche. Here's where we'll talk about our weekly Tuesday DJ night at Fallout Lounge in Dallas, TX, premier new tracks we're going to spin, advertise bands/DJs we like, and review a number of different things from shows to sandwiches. You're basically at our will, so deal with it and have some fun for crap's sake!

Our first post won't be too heavy with content, but I'd mostly just like to thank everybody that's been coming out to Disqo Disco for the past two weeks. It's probably a little bit different than your normal Tuesday, and we're glad to be a part of that change in your lives. You are what makes Disqo Disco possible, so word to your mothers.

I also want to thank Pretty Vacant and Greg from Panda Toes for tackling the 1's and 2's as guests on our first two nights. Next week we have some more friends coming, as well as some extreme partiness happening on April Fool's (yes, a TUESDAY!). Disqo Disco is all about fun, friends, and getting wasted. Get a piece!!
